Full Job Description
Seeking a part-time or full-time Licensed Physician Assistant (RPA-C) or Nurse Practitioner to work in a multidisciplinary pain clinic supervised by a physician at one location in Flushing, Queens. We will accept recent graduates or an experienced Physician Assistant or NP preferably with some musculoskeletal experience to perform initial evaluations, follow-up visits, and ultrasound-guided injections. Training will be provided for ultrasound-guided injections. No opioid medication management. Candidates must be licensed to practice in New York State and bilingual in Chinese and English. Responsibilities:- Assist the pain management physician in evaluating and treating patients with chronic/acute pain conditions- Perform patient assessments, including taking vital signs and recording medical history- Administer treatments such as medication management, injections, and radiation therapy under the supervision of the physician- Provide health coaching and education to patients on pain management techniques and lifestyle modifications- Assist with procedures such as joint injections and nerve blocks- Document patient encounters and treatment plans in the electronic medical record system (MD Land)- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care- Assist with durable medical equipment (DME) ordering and management
Skills:- Proficiency in conducting patient assessments and interpreting medical records- Knowledge of pain management techniques and treatments- Familiarity with MDLand or similar electronic medical record systems- Ability to perform basic procedures such as joint injections and nerve blocks- Strong communication skills to effectively educate and coach patients on pain management strategies- Understanding of ICD-10 coding for accurate diagnosis documentation
This position requires a Pain Management Physician Assistant who is detail-oriented, compassionate, and able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will have excellent clinical skills, a strong knowledge of pain management techniques, and the ability to provide comprehensive care to patients.
